Ally is an artist and craftsman working in Falmouth.
I believe that nothing should be considered worthless simply because we have stopped wanting it.
Waste is a verb, not a noun — what we do with things when we no longer need them says a lot about us and our relationship with the world around us.
I am instinctively drawn to abandoned and overlooked materials, sensing the potential in things that others see as rubbish. I combine them intuitively, much like a painter combines colours, allowing their history, character and natural qualities to guide what they become.
I make furniture, sculpture, and other objects of desire from rescued, reclaimed and found materials. By giving these things a new life as beautiful and functional objects, I hope they can be valued, used and loved again.
The story behind the workshop
What began as a passion for working with wood has lead me to become an artisan furniture maker and sculptor in the heart of Cornwall.
I approach each project individually, whether it's a dining table designed for family gatherings, a custom shelving system, or a statement staircase that defines a room.
I believe furniture should not only be functional, but beautiful and meaningful, something that tells a story whilst it becomes part of yours.

I collect abandoned materials, both natural and man-made. They inspire my artistic process.

I love working with natural materials; wood, stone, glass and metal. I also like to contrast surface finishes.

I often work with a low-tech, DIY approach—born from a childhood where I learnt self-reliance.

Made to Last, re-imagined for life.
The materials I use have already had a life, and I aim to celebrate and honour their patina and character by creating beautiful and meaningful pieces, each with it's own story to tell.
Every joint, finish and detail is considered to ensure each piece will look it's best for years to come and enjoy another lifetime, loved by you.
